How
do I use Shopping?
1. Locate the store you'd
like to shop in. Jump to our Shopping Mall by clicking here.
Or, if you'd rather use a simple text listing of the stores, click
here.
2. In the Shopping Mall,
move the pointer over the kind of merchandise you're looking for,
then click you're right pointer button. A list of stores with this
type of merchandise will appear.
3. Click on the store
you're interested in shopping in.
4. Each store has a different
shopping experience. But, in general stores allow you to search
for specific items or browse their catalog.
5. Once you select an
item, you'll probably need to click on something like 'Add To Shopping
Cart.' This sets adds the item to a list which will follow you as
you move through the store.
6. To purchase all your
items, you will probably need to click on 'Check Out,' or something
similar.
7. At Check Out, you
should see a list of the items added to your Shopping Cart (or list).
Now you have a chance to drop any items or add multiple copies of
an item.
8. You'll be asked for
your name, address and credit card information. All sites approved
by SeniorCenter.com have secure order pages, which means your address
and credit card information are sent encrypted across the Web to
the merchant. Encryption makes it nearly impossible for your information
to be intercepted by evesdroppers.
9. Some sites may request
or offer you to register with them. If you do this, then your shipping
and credit card information are kept on their computers for your
next visit. In the registration process, you'll be prompted to assign
a username and password for your account. Then, next time you buy
something, all you need to do is enter your username and your password
for that site. Remember: write down your username and password for
each site you register with, though most sites have a way to email
you that information should you forget.
